If you haven’t tried Severed Ties, here’s a little taste –

Calvin relaxed on the couch. He watched them and listened as he attempted to take in what they were doing. Suddenly, the ceiling light blinked on then off. He felt the room chill. He looked upward and could see an orb, shining in rich glow float through the window. He didn’t know what to think. He just stared at it, and said not a word. He observed the orb, brilliant and illuminating, quietly with a slow glide of movements, move through the room, and descend. He witnessed the sparkling orb transform into a faint image of an older woman. Her aged hair in a tight bun, and she wore a long, billowing cotton coat. She floated between Sandra and Frankie. He watched in disbelief as she transformed back into a barely, there visible orb.

The girls cut their decks with their left hand and restacked them. They tossed the top card on to the bedspread, upright. Similarities, in the tarot and ordinary playing card existed. Frankie turned over the nine of diamonds, Sandra, the Magician.

“You can pull this off,” Sandra beamed, looking in her eyes. “With the Magician, Frankie, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. You need to be daring, and success will follow. It’s time to stretch your limits.”

“With the nine of diamonds,” Frankie said, staring at Sandra, “if bold steps are needed, they will prove to be easier than anticipated or feared. I need to be brave and tackle going into the strip club in a straightforward way.”

“Okay. Tell me what just happened,” Calvin asked, shaking his head in disbelief.

“The cards are a valued tool,” Sandra explained, as she put her deck back in a protective, hand-sewn pouch. She pulled the drawstring to contain the energies. “The cards are a personal tool for communication with our Spirit Guides.”

“Unseen forces really are working in our favor,” Frankie interrupted.

“We consult the cards when we’re faced with a problem and need guidance. We receive messages for what we need to know to advance or retreat.”

“Really,” he said, nodding. He didn’t know what to say. He still couldn’t believe what he had seen.

The two girls paid him no attention.

“Let me touch up my makeup. Then, we’ll go.” Frankie applied her usual black eyeliner and lipstick.

“Sandra, tell me more about your Spirit Guides,” Calvin asked, sitting on the tiny, weathered couch.

What’s The Book About?

Carm a whole-some farm girl marries her first love, and then abandoned everything she knows. After six weeks of marriage, when a devastating storm kills her husband, she’s a widow. In a strange city, torn by her loss, young, scared and no resources she begins to live a life she wasn’t ready for. Her emotions extremely low, and to make it comfortable to live in her own skin she turns to drugs and alcohol to self medicate. She is pushed to the edge as her relationships become tremulous. Haunted by her deceased husband and an introduction to Gretchen, a witch becomes a blessing. Carm learns secrets about her past, present, future and potential.

“AT THE EDGE” – Real people developing relationships; while Carm is struggling to pick up the pieces after the death of her husband.

In this book I provide a unique insight into the drug world and mysticism – addiction and the belief that direct knowledge of ultimate reality is attainable through intuition and the unseen world.

Now Available – Severed Ties

By the use of divination and magic, some ties can never be severed.

In the beginning, by the light of the Full Moon, Frankie connects with Candice’s energy through dream time and witnesses her involvement in a terrifying act of violence. After receiving information from Sandra that their childhood friend is missing, they pack their bags and head to the inner city to find her.

Frankie, afraid for her own safety, has a chance encounter with a local named Calvin who is plugged into what’s happening. Using his workable ideas—as well as Frankie and Sandra consulting tarot, ordinary playing cards, astrology, and spell-casting—they set forth to free Candice from the dangerous situation she is in.

CIRCLE Magazine is seeking submissions both of art, articles and poetry of general interest to the Pagan community and for the forum on “Lineage and Family Traditions” for Issue 115, coming out this November. Help us celebrate the diversity of ages within our community and explore the way that our ideas and legacies are passed down to seekers of all ages.

The deadline for submissions for this issue has been moved to September 22.

Forum articles and poetry could include subjects such as raising Pagan children, magical linage, ancestors, passing on traditions, nontraditional family rituals, becoming a teacher, chosen families and more! Please feel free to contact me at editor@circlesanctuary.org

to see if your idea for a forum article would fit in with this quarter’s topic. Learn more about submitting articles, essays and poetry.

In addition to the forum topic, we are always looking for articles and poetry of general interest to the pagan and nature spirituality communities. Learn more about submitting articles, essays and poetry.

Seeking art by kids and youth! Does your 5 year old make crayon pentacles? Does your 15 year old draw manga style goddesses? For this issue we are looking for Pagan-themed art drawn by children and youth. Submissions should include the child’s name (as you would like to see it published), age and a note with contact information from a parent or guardian giving permission for publication. Scan and submit art online.

In addition to art by children and youth we are looking for Pagan themed art and photography that will convert well to black and white. Submissions with a ‘lineage and family traditions’ or Yule theme are particularly encouraged. Learn more about submitting art and photography.

We are also looking for color art for the front cover matching the Lineage and Family Traditions theme and for the back cover with a Yule theme. Learn more about submitting cover art.
